No, mate, you're not doomed. It's the sort of thing that could have
happened to anyone. Doesn't make you a 'snitch'. Just one small
example: you may not have been feeling at your best, personal
fortitude-wise, when you 'rolled over'. People who've been where you
were will understand; people who haven't, won't.

My first acid trip was fine, but it might not have been. If you've
never taken LSD then frankly you have no idea what you are talking
about.

Well, the bulk of the drugs I consumed in my drug consuming days, they
were taken in a context where I was (a) raring to go in terms of
expanding my drug experience, and (b) living in a country where
telling anyone non-druggy anything at all about drugs was literally
inconcievable, and where 'snitching' to the police would have been,
literally, worse than committing suicide. And yet someone, somewhere,
did talk, every now and again. While that, then, shoudl be
'incredible', it was never surprising. Imagine the pressure that could
be brought to bear. Go on, imagine it. Please, do...

...now, anybody reading this who either said 'no, thanks, don't think
I will imagine it', or 'ok, i'll try imagning it', both of you share a
total lack of understanding of the matter and should take a huge step
back. Anybody who doesn't need to imagine it because they recognise
that situation, that Zoyd or Van Meter or whoever, is in, will
understand how terms like 'snitch' apply to teh situation(s)
fromVineland being discussed.

Those who don't know, don't know.

Or - as Pynchon's old mucker Zimmy said, "Don't criticise what you
can't understand."
