Sure, and there was hype about CDs in general. We were sold a load of lies.

You're wise to wait until expert ears have heard the new remasters
before laying out cash. I wasn't suggesting everybody rush out and buy
'em, just passing on a review which, to be fair, seems to be
approaching the matter from a fairly educated angle, and doesn't shy
away from mentioning some negatives - not least the ridiculous price
of the mono box set, which you have to buy if you want any album in
mono.
