re Zappa and the Mothers in the 60s

I came on the Zappa live experience late. First encounter was in '75  
in Chicago on what became known as the Bongo Fury tour. Zappa and  
Beefheart together live. Stunning. Since then have had the privilege  
of meeting Bruce Fowler and hearing Zappa and Beefheart anecdotes out  
the Wazoo. Even sat once at LACMA with Fowler and Don Preston.  
Delightful human beings. It's worth seeing Dweezil's Zappa Plays  
Zappa tour when it comes to your town. The focus is exclusively on  
the music. As Doug pointed out, it is tight. I saw Zappa with the LA  
Philharmonic in '75 after moving to LA. Afterwards a female Phil  
member walked by in a sweat talking about how difficult the charts  
were and how afraid she was that Zappa would get mad at her. Good
