Thanks, Dave.  I for one am far too lazy to chase most of those references
on my own.
I read Pynchon (yes yes for the prose, the excellent prose, the poems
the songs the characters but also) partly to congratulate myself on how
many of the references I catch.

So it's always illuminating to see how many I miss, and your hosting
is a primary source for that.
