IVing IV, back in the Hall of Justice

p. 281 This is the kind of almost offhand satire I hate to miss and love in Pynchon, no matter the overall meaning of any novel.

Hall of Justice's shabby furniture, "from some long-ago yard sale"
and the Pynchonian witty: "Floor-waxing machine" to keep Justice looking 
shiny made out of WW2 tank parts....perhaps the "last good war" agin them
Nazis was when Justice was a social reality in America???
