lovers.

To keep us from exploring IV in more depth. Although it doesn't have
to be eaiter/or.

Seriously, I have been asked, along with some others, to suggest WITH REASONS, some writers to ba approached to write a new introduction to
a 20th Anniversary reissue of The Confederacy of Dunces.

So, I thought I would ask the smart listers who have thoughts about that.

Remember, or if you did not know: the book was published by LSU press because of the intercession of Walker Percy, it had been rejected uptown, downtown and all around towm (NY town). Then, or later or both, with an intro from the author's mother about him, this book, his suicide, etc.
Huge sales from day one. High -riding bestseller.

Send your suggestions along with any folded bill over a fin to me here. I will pass on the best, with your name unless you are otherwise in the Pynchon publisicty mold. (I will probably just pass on all of the serious---but not too serious---ones unless there are..........too many)

Richard Ford, prominent doer of such things, originally from new Orleans, as was the author should NOT be offered. He won't. Hated the book (and besides the New Orleans connection, which he has attenuated, it does not seem like a good fit except that he is literarily famous. [so very overrated inho, but i'm nobuddy). Uh, writerly fame does matter some since one purpose is to have new readers pick up the book by a writer they might not know but an introducer they might.

P.S. Pynchon has been suggested with few good reasons so..............
(Working belief is that he would not write an intro unless the book REALLY mattered to him as 1984 did)
