artistic partying discussion during Christmas break

I was remembering the recent spirited plist discussions regarding
writing while high, while/after taking LSD, et.,etc.....when I read
this remark in the bio of Don B. of the writers/artists right before
that time in America.

Don B. hung out a lot, drinking heavily, with visual artists---the deKoonings, Kline,Pollock, others---at the Cedar bar---now gone--and Elaine deKoonings studio/salon when he fist came to NY in the early sixties. Whenever two gathered, there was booze, it seemed.

The biographer, Tracy Daugherty, writes that what we may not understand
as time has moved on in the culture, is how much they all believed
that such drinking helped them THINK....

Just sayin'.
