"I mean danger, the edge of every void, the circumstance of one man
imparting an erotic terror to the dreams of the republic."--Great
Jones Street, 1973
can't think of a better description of Pynchon's work in the GR period.
I was thinking about this the past few days and how after GR, I
believe, Pynchon became primarily a story-teller--sure there's plenty
of sex and terror in Pynchon's post GR world but they never really
have combined so hermaphroditically like they do in GR in particular.
