Someone needs to do a pharmacological history of modern warfare &  
routes of access in the opium trade.

It's the Fang going after the gold anywhere it can—"The open palm of  
desire wants everything" —the Inherent Vice is profit over anything  
else, the boots on the ground reality of modern capitalism.
