Well, never mind my review, but yeah, for any Beatles fan, 'Revolution in the Head' is essential reading. You may well find yourself disagreeing with some of MacDonald;s more trenchant opinions, but you're more often likely to find yourself reeling at the scale of his achievement. I've been re-reading his book since it came out in 1994, and I keep going back to it again and again.
