Trillium and the Son of Slothrop

Trillium may fall for the wrong guy, but she's and accomplished musician, a
sweetie, and Doc knows it.  The other women that Doc is attracted to in IV
may be "easier," but then again, so is Doc.   Speaking of Doc, I really
don't see how so many people think that he's a fake, i.e. the man
masquerading as a hippie.  Like Bogie in Casablanca, he's says that he's not
takin' sides, but that's just to keep the man guessin'.  He's a capable
doper.  Son of Slothrop?
