unreliable narrators

Either Doc or Oed are 'present' in every scene of their respective
novels, I think. You can't say that about any of P's other works.
Makes the novels less enjoyable for me, cos I like to be able to
wander off and hear what clocks are saying to each other in the bowels
of a ship.
