the Latin "res", meaning "thing"

so, "thingify", or, like, to make a thing of

like in the Achewood comics, "is this gonna be a thing?" for instance

dictionary.com sez "thing" comes from Middle English via Old English
and originally meant "meeting" so  that's good as well
