VL-IV DL's flight as Pynchon's lost years?

"In my time, Mr Wayvone, I was the best."

so, okay, you've just churned out a NBA (nat'l book award) winner,
and captured the rebellious zeitgeist, wouldn't there be a part of you
that'd just want to go out and *kill*...
accept the lionization?

it is to the credit of DL's spiritual mentors, no matter how
self-deprecating and silly ("the nosepicking of death"? the ability to
assume the contours of a room?) that her response is negative. "Here
was Ralph, promising resolution and release. What was she complaining
about? Only that acts, deeply moral* and otherwise, had
consequences...."

so she takes a powder.

a word on locution:
p 131 "That would be the Vibrating Palm, or Ninja Death Touch. She
went on to explain....It was useless without a long history of
training in martial disciplines, took years to master, and when used
[-- it's a little surprising jolt every time, not to see an adverb
such as "appropriately", at this juncture--] was a profoundly moral
act."

p 132 "deeply moral or not" slight alteration, pounding 'profound'
back down to its roots of 'deep'
-- so, is "deep morality" anything like "deep ecology"?

"Frenesi's eyes, even on the aging ECO stock, took over the frame, a
defiance of blue unfadable."
