Ouch, My Head Hurts

hee-hee.  I wonder what the outcome will be.
Having been a rep of various kinds at a phone company, I can relate.

What I wonder is, is there a reference somewhere that spells out
whether the actual rate is .002 dollars or .002 cents?

My sense is that the phone company reference material would originally
be in relation to dollars.
That is a business standard, after all.  The quote, imho, would
obviously be .002 dollars/k.  The multiplication would have been done
by the computer.

The .002 cents probably just came up verbally and the guy seized on it
and kept harping on it.

We used to have a saying, "the ruder the customer, the dumber the
rep."  Sounds like these telco personnel heard that saying and live by
it.  But the guy is - imho - being a dork about it.

Of course, I wouldn't have handled it that way.  I would probably do a
goodwill adjustment and apologize. That's how come they let me go into
the tech side...
