true. in fact, so true that the US military made sure post-Vietnam
wars would not have the same amount of media access and chance the
folks back home could think for themselves. there is a current of
revisionist thinking about the Vietnam War by conservatives in the US
that is pretty deranged, including blaming the media for loss of
morale and losing the stomach to see it through (I believe Bush Jr.
said as much at a speech at West Point or somesuch)
one quibble--that pic you linked to I believe was from 1972--current
histories agree that Tet offensive in 1968 was the tipping point for
support for the war. by 1972, think it was near the end for US
involvement, at least large scale US ground military operations. not
denying the awful power of the pic you linked to.
the Israelis are good at that as well in Gaza recently, e.g.
fwiw..I also have a problem with the term "good guy"
