Inglorious Bastards (2009)

I should clarify I think--shouldn't get worked up about a pop film
that if you're description is close to being accurate and I do not
doubt you, nobody will take all that seriously and who doesn't want to
see Nazis get their comeuppance?

But I'm somewhat suspicious of the Hollywood need to make something
like confronting/portraying the Nazi terror somehow palatable or
digestable or naively laughable with stupid Germans and an over the
top Hitler. (not that there's plenty of room for satire)

(it looks like a movie version of Pat Benatar's video Shadows of the
Night--check it out:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=66aqcOsnP2E)

But the whole torture porn aspect and truimphalism is just another
aspect I find distasteful--who wants to emulate a Nazi? scalpings,
branding swastikas--phew

fwiw
