"Dan Franklin from the publisher Jonathan Cape has purchased UK rights to
Thomas Pynchon's forthcoming private detective novel. The publisher has
handled all of Pynchon's work in the past.

Deborah Rogers from Rogers, Coleridge & White negotiated the deal, which
Bookseller called "significant." As GalleyCat reported last year, the book
is entitled Inherent Vice--recording the psychedelic adventures of a private
detective in California during the 1960s. Pynchon found his cover art on the
Internet."
