Given his disinterest in the actual, I wouldn't expect Tarantino to be forthright or forthcoming about his life.

Agreed. And, while the speculation about Kill Bill/Vineland parallels is interesting, I doubt Tarantino has the nous to read Pynchon. Tarantino is so one-dimensional that calling him "a one-trick pony" would make him sound much more interesting than he actually is.
