I can't recall any television shows which used the flashback/flash- 
forward a whole lot.  Many of them moved forward quite fast sometimes  
but I don't remember a lot of switching around between time  
periods.   (Maybe Happy Days and Mash went from today's scene to  
yesterday's to dreamland to today again - yes,  and they were both  
"period" pieces,  set in a time a few years prior to the writing.)
