SPRINGFIELD - As if propelled by divine intervention, Ramon Sanchez
cannot watch an elderly person at an intersection without crossing the
street to help them, or watch a $5 bill fall from a passerby's pocket
without returning it.

Better known in the city's Hispanic community, as "pynchon," Spanish
for "the bird," Sanchez was one of nearly a dozen "unsung heroes" to
be honored at the Latino Chamber of Commerce's second annual
"Parrandon Navideno," or holiday celebration on Saturday.
