Subject: Italian-Americans in N. Cal.

As a fellow Pynchon-l subscriber and longtime Northern California
resident, I can testify that there is a large Italian-American
population, both rural (in agriculture, cheese, wine) and urban --
San Francisco has its own "Little Italy" although it's not called
that, in the heavily Italian-American North Beach neighborhood. So
it's probably not impossible to gain some knowledge of Italian-
American musical taste for a Northern California teenager who is
interested. What is now Silicon Valley used to be all prunes and
other crops, more than a few Italian immigrants managed to acquire
some property, back in the day, that turned out to be extremely
valuable in that part of the world by the 1960s, 70s, 80s.

Back to lurking,
Doug
