(Aha, I should've used plain text - oops.)
So, I'm Amy and I've got Chapter 9 - this is my first time participating, so any pointers regarding etiquette or other such things are more than welcome.
Chapter 9 picks up right where 8 left off, with DL explaining to Prairie how she met Takeshi-san, whom Floyd has already introduced us to several chapters before
Some random things in the first couple of pages that caught my eye:
"... a plate with four rubber scampi, rushed in fresh from the joke store down the street and covered as completely as possible with tomato sauce."
I have nothing of substance to mention here, except that as a East Coast transplant living in CA, I am awfully amused by any references to the stuff the West Coast tries to pass off as Italian food. Not dissimilar in quality to what the East Coast labels "Mexican food."
"Her visitor sat down across the table, clicked open an armored attache case, and produced a folder with a 8 x 10 of a face she knew, a Fresson-process studio photograph of Brock Vond, looking like he'd just had a buffer run over him..."
I couldn't find much about the Fresson process - it seems to be a well-kept secret, per several online forums "One thing I forgot to mention is that the actual details of the Fresson process are still a closely guarded secret, held by the folks who still make Fresson prints. Here is their link: http://www.atelier-fresson.com/home.htm"
DL wonders about Ralph's FBI connections, speculating that he has access to the NCIC computer.

(Stacy Olster has an article you're all probably aware of in The Vineland Papers, entitled "When You're a (Nin)jette, You're a (Nin)jette All the Way - or Are You?: Female Filmmaking in Vineland." I didn't have much luck finding a PDF of the article, but it's an interesting musing on the female ninja.)
Apparently the Ninja Death Touch attracts a lot of attention, much of it from dubious sources - it's a sexy idea and appears to have many names:

I'm not personally interested in it or ninjas in general, but do like the enjoy of it in Kill Bill Vol. 2 (yes I know, QT is not respected amongst this group, I think it's a generational thing).
Equally sexy is the 1966 Plymouth Fury in which DL escapes to Ohio (I could make another QT observation regarding Bill's monologue about Superman/Clark Kent, but will refrain...).

Anyway, I have to do some dishes - I'll post more later, I just wanted to pick up where Laura left off with Chapter 8 to keep the cheese a-rollin'
- Amy
