Weapons Cache Found Near Home Of Former N.J. Cop
VINELAND, N.J. (CBS 3) ―

A cache of 250 weapons and nearly half a million rounds were found in an underground bunker on the property of a former Vineland Police officer.

State Police have discovered a massive cache of weapons at the home of a former Vineland Police officer who was taken into custody on aggravated assault charges.

Troopers were called to the home of Brian Hinkle on Rosemont Avenue near Vineland after reports he was in possession of property stolen from an area home sometime last week. Hinkle served as a police officer in the 1980's.

Authorities said Hinkle was apprehended following an altercation with a trooper. When the troopers arrived at the home, Hinkle ran into his kitchen and brandished a loaded handgun forcing detectives to physically disarm and detain him. Hinkle was arrested for three charges of assault on an officer.

Chopper 3 was over the four-acre property after investigators discovered a massive cache of weapons in an apparent underground bunker. Apparently nearly 250 weapons were found along with a half million rounds of ammunition during a search of the grounds. . . .
