Just free associating here, but B flat is the note just before C. The
key of B flat is the most suitable key for wind instruments---It would
be Miles' home key, the home key of the trumpet, or the post-horn.
Gabriel's horn also comes to mind. In a way, B flat is like 49—just
before arrival/revelation.
