Like what's happening in Vineland. The showcasing of the hula dancers in the opener is a corruption of local culture, just as the televising of Zoyd's transfenestration is a media exploitation of the colorful locals.
"Book him, Danno..."
Zoyd's suicide fantasy features a Hawaii 5-0 denouement. Most episodes
of Hawaii Five-O ended with the arrest of criminals with McGarrett's
catch phrase to Williams, "Book 'em, Danno!" with the offense
occasionally added after this phrase, such as "-Murder one!". The Tube
forces us to look at the real world via its pre-packaged perceptions.
(Incidentally, the Hawaii 5-0 theme surfaces at least two other places
-- including the tune played by Takeshi's electronic Giri card.)
