I do not think this is a cynical view at all. The reality is that you
simply can't catch public eye without the backing of the media, that
is, the mouthpiece of the State. If there is ever to be real reform,
it will have to begin with the media. Until that happens, I expect to
see only variations on the theme established following Nixon's demise
at the hands of a responsible media.
