Fwd: CoL49 (5) Two or Three Things About Her

Unless it's been fixed, the numbering system of the town of Skowegan, Maine is random.  2 next to 47 next to 11 -- that sort of thing.

One slightly odd thing is that although Palo Alto and Menlo Park seem
inseparable they are in different counties--Santa Clara and San Mateo,
respectively but that's no excuse for not maintaining a sensible numbering
system. Where I live now in Northwest DC the same numbering that is used on
Wisconsin Avenue continues for many miles out through Maryland (as far as
Rockville where I think they start over).

That's all real familiar territory to me. Lived there in the early 50s and
still have close family=2
0ties there.
