Always wondered why this TV-serial (huge success over here with several
re-runs) did not pop up in Vineland. I mean, it takes place on Hawaii
like some of VL's action does and there is this layer of the
reconstruction of the 1960s as an imaginary object (which
is in Magnum PI focused on the Vietnam war). Last but not
least: A happy ending! Thomas returns to the Navy like
Desmond gets the blue jays. Now, of course the show
is ideological as hell (at least for a continental
leftist like me), but I always liked its humor.
