Alice in Wonderland redux

i might think it is a 'marketing-based' decision......Burton (or his studio distro company) feel, KNOW, that
many prime moviegoers---teens---would not go to a movie ostensibly about a kid......12 or younger.................

It would end up an arthuose movie like (the terrific) Pan's Labyrinth. 

But Burton will get her to act a very young 17.....I think.

Judy was 16 or 17.  The girl in Pan's Labyrinth was 12.  A description I read of the Burton movie describes Alice as 17.  Hey, it's a film of something in the public domain, what do you expect?
