Larisa Shepitko's The Ascent

Hi all--

another fabulous movie emerging from the Soviet Union (1977)  about
those caught up in the horrible Partisan war in Byelorussia during the
Nazi occupation (if u like Come and See, you'll pbly like this one,
too)

Sadly this was Shepitko's last film as she was killed in a car crash
while beginning to make her next movie.
