"Smart mouth.  One day he would order her down on her knees in front of all these cryptically staring children, put a pistol to her head, and give her something to do with her smart mouth."

Quoth RR: Holy fellated firearms!  A none-too-subtle association in Brock's mind between his gun and his penis. If one were so inclined, one could doubtless produce a grotesquely amusing book filed with pop cultural linkages between guns and penises (in the same imagistic family, of course, as linkages between penises and missiles.)

One amazing - and utterly homoerotic - instance of phallogo-gun imagery is that moment when John Malkovitch's crazed assassin "goes down" on secret service agent Clint Eastwood's pistol in "In The Line of Fire" (1993).

[Spoiler alert! If you haven't seen this movie - and like Hollywood thrillers - I'd advise skipping this clip and watching the film from the beginning; it's one of the more effective examples of the genre]:

A film which I've NOT seen - and desperately want to given its zany and Pynchon-esque description - is the Roger Ebert-scripted "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls"; I'm sure many P-listers are familiar with its historically notorious scene of handgun fellatio:
