  I used to use it way back in my early married days (1967 - 1970 or  
so -  yes).

It supposedly works on hair, too,  but I've certainly not tried  
that.   Remember the bluish grey hair on the little old ladies?


  I read somewhere that really,  really white appears bluish to many  
Americans  (or said differently,  if compared,  Americans will choose  
a white with a very slightly bluish tinge as the whitest).   Otoh,   
really, really white appears somewhat greenish to the French.
