The movie Morgan! (with David Warner and Vanessa Redgrave)was apparently based on a British TV movie called A Suitable Case for Treatment and borrowed the name as a second title.  My mother took me to see it when I was eight, and though I was embarrassed by the mild sexuality of the film, I loved it.  Afterwards she tried to explain communism to me.  I'm sure TRP saw it and must have enjoyed the King Kong references.
