Freedom from responsibility including being a mother tied down with
children is something Frenesi finds attractive--Vond exploits that
wish with his little speech about it.

one wonders about Prarie's future relationship with her mom after the
book ends--it doesn't appear to bode well. Prarie's shout out to Vond
at the end could be some sort "give me what you gave my mom"--another
weird idea of "freedom", from family.
