I live on the West Coast too. Slightly norther than Nome, Alaska,
also on the West Coast.

Kalajoki, the place where the word "mojakka" may have its origins,

lies on the West Coast too, 130 km south of Oulu. Have never heard
the word before, but my late paternal grandmother probably knew it,
as she hailed from Kalajoki.
