Well, yeah sure.  All that observer/observed Schrodinger's Cat kinda  
stuff, that's potentially what's going on.

On the other hand, suppressed tales of transactions involving ganja in  
one pound increments and the resulting paranoia that seems like a  
natural extension of such underground enterprises—didn't this get  
covered in the  Rocketman tale? Vineland? Why the hell is there so  
much weed in Against the Day [hell, Mason & Dixon!] anyway?—point to  
other potential scenarios.
