Absolutely agree. And to be fair to Chomsky, yes he has made an ass of himself, and permanently, significantly dented his reputation, but in many ways his supporters and fans (and 'fan' as in fanatic is teh right word) have made an even bigger mistake, and made even bigger assses of themselves, because where Chomsky has got it wrong by trying to shoehorn Bosnia into his 'one size fits all' worldview, his fans have no real worldview at all, they just dance along behind Chomsky as if he was some sort of Pied Piper, and what's even more tragic is that they actually feel smug about it, y'know, "we read Chomsky, which means we heap big Leftist Intellectuals...."
BUt yeah, Hitchens, you have to wonder - what happened, man? He has gone off teh deep end. Still, even at this stage, he has the nous to suss the Milosevic apologists for what they are, and that's something you cannot say for Chomsky, Pilger, Harold Pinter, etc.
