hey, not all of us are like that...are we?

let's give him a chance.  Like Thomas Hardy in that poem about not
expecting much: first, if he represented all the changes I want, he
wouldn't have gotten this far.  Like Mick Jagger famously sang at
Alex's funeral, you can't always get what you want...
but if you try sometime...ah you know the rest...
