All] by the Firesign Theater. The American Pageant closes with the  
final pages of James Joyce's Ulysses. Or Maybe "Don't Crush That  
Dwarf, Hand Me The Pliers", Kent State as retold via the tropes of  
50's, post-HUAC films. Seems like a lot of Pynchon is in that  
continuum.
