"If one object behind her discovery of what she was to label the Tristero System
or often only the Tristero ( as if it might be something's secret title) were to bring
to an end her encapsulation in her tower, then that night's infidelity with Metzger would
logically be the starting point for it; logically. That's what would come to haunt her most,
perhaps: the way it fitted, logically, together. As if ( as she'd guessed that first minute in San Narcisco)
there were revelation in progress all around her."
Let's remember the famous line: "Shall I project a world?"
Jung: "the fifth and highest stage of belief [in God] is when the entire world is understood as a psychic
structure and the only God the 'God within' or the "God Image".---CGJung by Frank McLynn
In Eliade too, projection is what a community calls religion.
Laura asked: "What higher fate's in control? Surely not God. Maxwell's Demon?"
McLynn says Jung's notion of God was a sliding one, BUT surely best characterized as NOT
THE OBJECTIVE BEING of Christian theology. But as like 'God within' and 'God Image" above.
And I remember Miles in AtD, tripping over the basket, saying that we often miss the things around us.
And I remember, 'As above, so below' which seems to ground the spiritual in the earthly.
So, here, do have an early embedding of TRPs vision---in this very 'religiously-infused' novel---that
the religious, as it is called,---revelation--- is 'in progress all around her' NOT from outside THIS WORLD?
