COL49 - Chap 1: Who is Pierce Inverarity?

Thanks Dave, I don't know how I missed this Hollander essay for so  
long;( despite an earlier discussion of Manippean Satire that I  
didn't really get because the term seemed  obscure and unfamiliar)   
but it is the most convincing and specific and enlightening thing I  
have read about Pynchon and seems particularly helpful in looking at  
CoL 49.  Has anyone ever tracked down the text of the offending sermon?
