I remember really liking it when it came out. It seemed so current, so 60s.

JFK assassination conspiracy theorists were everywhere.  But another hot 
topic was the idea that psychosis and paranoia might actually be curative. 
Liang and that bunch. Oedipa sort of stood for anti-oedipus before its time.
