(so if Doc is able to effect the return of Coy from
the dead, what other miracles might he be capable of?)
"Spike's friend Farley had a darkroom"
once again the network of loving friends...
...which of course has its pitfalls, Denis's photography
being optimized towards personal satisfaction
rather than maximized in the direction of professionalism.
But he did get one shot of the subject in question,
and really, that's enough.
The Last Supper reference is germane if we recall
that Coy is going to be resurrected.
Armed with the photo, Doc calls on Bigfoot.
Bigfoot works in the downtown police station,
and Doc thinks of it as "The Glass House"
"It creeped him out, the way it just sat there
looking so plastic and harmless among the old-time
good intentions" (nice!) "of all that downtown architecture"
"alternate cop history and cop politics - cop
dynasties, cop heroes and evildoers, saintly
cops and psycho cops, cops too stupid to live
and cops too smart for their own good"
(we are getting a list on the order of the Octomaniacs,
but I guess we grasp the Traverse clan's members
by a game they all play and by how they wake up,
whereas these cops are brought together by their
cop-ness...also, they are, um, unionized, aren't they?
and apparently, somewhat vocally:
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/05/la-police-union-wants-san-diego-newspaper-writers-fired.html)
"Bigfoot's native element, the air he breathed."

--- "Can't say it often enough -
change your hair, change your life."
