Pynchon illumines life of Balloon boy's dad, a chump of the main chance

A friend of a quiet plister friend pointed this out: the kids could not make eye contact with their dad on TV, could not look him in the face.

And I will bring up again 1) Pynchon and children/natural innocence and 2) Pynchon's theme
I call face-to-faceness, that rock-solid human value. The kids knew dad
was lying. Could not face him visually.

Kant: "The starry skies above [without balloons]; the moral order within---these two things I 
(think) I know". Kids know the moral order within.
