While I have the chance, I'd like to thank Mike--along with all our
volunteers previous and yet to come--for hosting, to remind everyone
not only of their forthcoming stints, but that there are still open
slots left, and to apologize again for being a bit of a hostus
absconditus myself. I've been both on vacation (and keep in mind, I
do most of this from work) and boycotting the online coffee shop I
used to take advantage of otherwise (something i should have done long
ago, but was finally pushed over the edge on), not having a computer
(or a television, or a stereo, or a television, or ... or, for that
matter, a bed, but ...) of my own (not, at least, anything currently
or for some time up and running) ...

Y'all let me know, but i think we've been pretty productive here (we
meaning The List - me, but ...), and I encourage everyone to take up
not only from Mike's excellent obs., but from of course any/every
point that a comment comes to mind on. I realize we're on a bit of a
whirlwind tour (at least in comparison to our usual campaigns) of an
already "quick" (albeit, I'd argue, deceptively so) read, but I'm also
hoping to throw a genuine afterparty here as well, not only a summing
up/recap/whatever, but a reconsideration as well. i'm tempted to see
if we can follow H. Bloom's advice in re: Lot 49 here (i.e., read it,
then read it again immediately thereafter), but ... but I'd hate to
see squandered the gift of yet another novel so soon after the last.
In fact, ideally, I think, we'd take the opportunity to take into
(re)consideration the entire Pynchonian oeuvre in light of what we've
learned for this recent spate of productivity. I'm already working up
a list of tmes, elements, et al., so ...

So thanks again, ev'rybody, believe it or not, the List has likely
been the single most productive, perhaps even, averaged out, at any
rate, most enjoyable element of my life these past, uh, x-teenth (?!)
years now ...
