My personal theory, though based on anecdotal evidence, is that brutal
police officers are people who were bullied as children and are now
looking for revenge. My fat unattractive State Police officer cousin
was the original inspiration for this theory. The desk sergeant at the
local police station near where I work went to high school with me. He
was as unathletic as he was lacking in social skills. Kick a dog
enough times and you'll make it vicious.
