Crumley and Pynchon

Inspired by recent posting, I began reading James Crumley's The Last 
Good Kiss, when, on page three, I hit this:

"We covered the West, touring the bars, seeing the sights. The Chugwater 
Hotel down in Wyoming, the Mayflower in Cheyenne,
the Stockman's in Rawlings, a barbed-wire collection in the Sacajawea 
Hotel Bar in Three Forks, Montana . . ."

I'll keep reading.
