Books need trailers need books

Trailing trailers. Books clearly need video to make their mark – why
else would Thomas Pynchon do voiceover work on the trailer for his
latest novel? Ministry of Sound founder James Palumbo had three clips
made for his book (greedy). And Kevin Dart did a (very) cool animation
for his graphic novel. No surprise then that the Tate Modern has come
up with trailers for two of its books. One for David Carter’s pop-up
publication 600 Black Spots. Another for Peter Blake’s ABC. Not that
we’re saying they’re such great shakes. Just that we know a trend when
we see one.
