and Fine...

A page of straightforward exposition.  Let me point out the obvious:
the war itself involved horrendous
manipulation of American money, diversions, slush funds, no-bid
contracts, LBJ airlines (according
to several people I've talked to who were in the military, Lady Bird
was the owner of the airline
that flew GIs and coffins full of heroin back & forth) -
and, the process of not making the choice between guns and butter - supposedly
LBJ said we could have both - diluted the currency as badly as counterfeiting...
and, the misdirection of the word "defense" into meaning "empire"
devalues the language,
which in a way is the real currency anyway...


Terminal Island, just the name is foreboding...
